SADDLE BROOK, NJ — September 13, 2017 – Nourison is announcing an extraordinary collaboration with 5 distinguished design talents, titled “Portfolio by Nourison.” Portfolio will launch with 5 distinctly designed, high-end area rug collections targeted towards fashion-forward designers and consumers.

The design series will feature hand knotted and powerloomed rugs made of New Zealand Wool and wool blends of nylon, silk and Luxcelle™. Rug styles range from transitional to contemporary woven with playful colorways, bold patterns and soft neutrals.

The designers were involved in every aspect of the design process, from selecting the color palettes and fibers to creating designs that embody their vision, inspiration and design style.

Catherine and Justine Macfee: “We both have an innate understanding of rustic luxury rooted in Lake Tahoe and enhanced by a global design sensibility. Influenced by our travels to Europe, Morocco and the Native American West, our collection for Nourison celebrates heritage, pattern, exaggerated scale, and texture. We’ve studied 30 years of our firm’s notable projects in the California mountains and designed these rugs with the modern family in mind. Mixing color and pattern with luxurious textures, not forgetting durability and quality, these rugs are meant to be bold statement pieces, the foundation of inspired adventurous family homes.”

Kim Scodro: “Our goal was to design classic yet current rugs with gentle movement and soft palettes. We are excited to share rugs that offer a strong foundation for the furniture that will grace each of them.

Shay Geyer: “My design emphasis was on large scaled patterns and brilliant colors that would allow a rug to be either a jumping off point for a room’s design or the grounding force that ties all of the design elements together.”

Scot Meacham Wood: “Inspired by the country homes and castles dotting the Scottish landscape, I love bringing these historic patterns into the present with a more impactful scale and certainly more modern colours, says.”

Woodson and Rummerfield: “Our new rug collection is inspired by elements of bygone eras of Southern California and beyond. Vintage tribal and organic forms, our designs are paired with a bold and dynamic color palette. Each rug is an inspired tapestry - a work of art destined to be an instant classic.” Portfolio by Nourison will launch at Atlanta and Las Vegas markets in January 2018.
