Rated 1 out of 5 by csbz from Disappointed with Kiawah Chevron Kichv carpet I would advise against purchasing this carpet. We have had ours for two and a half years, and it already looks like it needs to be replaced. We purchased Kiawah Chevron Kichv (Stone color) carpet for our stairs and upstairs hall and had it installed in July 2021. In October 2022, after about a year and a quarter, it was already looking worn. We complained to the store where we purchased it, and they filed a claim with Nourison Home. Nourison denied the claim in early November and suggested the wear the carpet was showing was due to using a vacuum with a beater brush. The store resubmitted the claim (also in early November) because we had never used a beater brush. Nourison replied that the material was no longer under warranty (the warranty was for one year) and refused to revisit the claim. By this past November, one year later, we had become even more concerned about the condition of this carpet, and we contacted Nourison again. In addition to looking even more worn in the more frequently stepped-on areas, the two areas of most concern had gotten worse: the front edges of the stairs, which look especially worn (see pictures), and the landing at the top of the stairs, where a hole may be forming. With only two of us in the house -- no children or pets -- the carpet should not be in the condition it is after this brief period, especially considering this statement on the Kiawah Chevron Kichv Stone page of the website: "Each rug is hand loomed for superior quality and durability..." (Italics are mine.) Nourison listened to our recent concerns but again said there was nothing they would do. Unfortunately, we were unaware there was a one-year warranty (and that it did not cover the stairs). Had we known, we would have made our initial complaint within that period because the wear was evident then, including on the landing, which was under warranty. Still, Nourison should not sell a product that deteriorates so quickly. We are very disappointed with this carpet’s performance and the fact that we have no recourse.
